Club History

Welcome to CDEFF

The Clube Desportivo da Escola Francisco Franco (CDEFF), is intended for the training of athletes in basketball, futsal and orienteering, having been founded on October 24, 2005. The Club is located at the Escola Secundária Francisco Franco, in the city of Funchal, whose main message is the union and formation of a school community directly related to sport, not only taking into account the competitive aspect, but above all the training aspect. Currently, it has approximately 150 athletes registered in all levels of training between 5 and 19 years old, including a senior women's team featured in the I Women's Basketball League. CDEFF seeks to create habits of occupation of young people's free time, through sport, as a complement to school activities, promoting well-being, health, compliance with rules and their social integration. Our main goal is to train and prepare athletes for the future, both on a sporting and personal level, always including the values of sport and life, justifying the growth in number of athletes who intend to be trained in our Club.

Our mission is to promote the interest of children and youth aged between 5 and 19 in the development of sports practice, based on principles of ethics, competitive and social spirit, and the integral formation of the athletes, maintaining high standards of demand and quality, where human and sports development in young people is reconciled.
